Sunapee Conservation Commission Meeting Minutes December 5, 2012

Conservation Commission members invited Mr. Thibault, Mt Royal Academy Headmaster to the table to discuss the inquiry of the request of field(s) on the Dewey property. Mr. Thibault gave us the school boards thoughts and we elaborated on the process regarding requests made of town property and census of the town as well as donor intent when the parcel in question was a gift to the town as well as the legacy intended by the donor for generations to enjoy. The SCC recommended taking the time for the public process, create plans and keep communication open between town committees and the school.
Tim Fleury made the motion to accept the minutes of November 2012 as written. Rem Mastin seconded the motion. All in favor 4, opposed 0.
Johnson Property – SCC was denied LCHIP and Moose Plate funds.
Tim Fleury made the motion to pay the invoice from Penny Royal Hill Surveyors for $3300.00 for the Johnson property. Phase 1 is complete and under budget. Rem Mastin seconded the motion. All in favor 4, Opposed 0.
Tim Fleury made the motion to confirm SCC’s commitment to the Johnson Project and iscommitted without LCHIP and Moose Plate funds that we will expend our available funds to complete the Johnson Project. Rem Mastin seconded the motion. All in favor 4, Opposed 0.
SCC snowshoe/walk hike is planned and will be advertised in the ASLPT Chatter with an appeal for money.
